FIRE DETECTORS

Spectrex’s SharpEye fire detectors perform in the toughest processing environments and offers solutions for almost any application, where a fire hazards exists.

We offer solutions of flame detection with fast reaction time, the most adequate surface coverage, the best reliability (resistance to false alarms) and meeting all performance and safe requirements.

Our offer includes wide range of open-path detectors of: flame, hydrocarbons vapours and toxic gas detection, which are approved in many branches of industry.

Due to improved reliability guarantee period of detectors 40/40 type was prolonged to 5 years, what is approves by SIL2 (TUV) IEC 61508.

GAS DETECTORS

The most modern  Spectrex IR SafeEye Quasar 900 type of open path detectors provide noticing a wide range of hydrocarbon vapours (like alkanes – from methane to hexane and ethylene).

Range of detection equals up to 200 m, so Quasar 900 type of detector protects high risk plants.

A key parameters are reliability and performance – for Spectrex they were approved by SIL2 certificate and 3 stadium of FM performance/function tests of FM and EN standards.

Open path detector Spectrex SafEye Quasar 950/960.

Quasar 950 is responsible of H2S and ammonia detection. Quasar 950 reveals toxic hydrogen sulfide H2S and  Quasar 960 detects ammonia NH3. The detection range of both is 80 m.

PRODUCTS

SPECTREX SHARPEYE 40/40I TRIPLE IR (IR3) FLAME DETECTOR

Spectrex SharpEye 40/40I Triple IR (IR3) flame transmitter is based on three beams (IR3), which detect a fuel and gas fire at long distances. It is the most resistant to disruption (false alarms).

SPECTREX 40/40M MULTI IR FLAME DETECTOR

Spectrex 40/40M flame detector was designed to detect a hydrocarbon vapour-based and hydrogen fire.

SPECTREX 40/40L-LB UV/IR FLAME DETECTOR

Spectrex 40/40L flame detector (or LB type with build-in test option) is a combination of UV and IR detectors.

SPECTREX 40/40UFL ULTRA FAST UV/IR FLAME DETECTOR

40/40 UFL flame detector deals with flame of hydrocarbons or other flammable vapours, even flames of metallic dust and other inorganic materials.

SPECTREX 40/40L4-L4B UV/IR FLAME DETECTOR SERIES Detector involves infrared sensor, operating with wavelength of 4,5 µm, which detects fuel or hydrocarbon-based vapour fire.

Detector involves infrared sensor, operating with wavelength of 4,5 µm, which detects fuel or hydrocarbon-based vapour fire.

SPECTREX 40/40U-UB – UV FLAME DETECTOR

A brand new flame detector Spectrex UV 40/40u-ub-UV detects fuel and hydrocarbon‑based vapour fire, invisible flames of hydrogen’s fire. It is adequate for hydrides fire (ammonia NH3 and silane SiH4 included) and many other organic substances.

SPECTREX 40/40R - SINGLE IR FLAME DETECTOR

40 / 40R transmitter with a single IR sensor detects fuel and hydrocarbon-based vapour fire by an advanced tools of flame analysis.

OPEN PATH SPECTREX IR SAFEEYE QUASAR 900 GAS DETECTOR

The newest type of open path IR SafeEye Quasar 900 transmitters is responsible of wide range of hydrocarbons vapours detection, from methane-hexane to ethylene included.

OPEN PATH SPECTREX SAFEYE QUASAR 950/960 GAS DETECTOR

Spectrex SafEye Quasar 950 i 960 open path detectors catches ammonia NH3 and hydrogen sulfide H2S. The performance is based on UV detection technology.

SPECTREX INC.

For 34 years Spectrex Inc. has been world’s leader in providing solution for gas leakage and fire propagation detection. The company was the first to develop UV/IR and tripple IR3 detection systems, xenon flash lamps were developed in Open Path detectors.

Such innovations enabled to provide advanced solutions for petrochemical and chemical, energy power industries and many other.

Fire and Gas Detection

Drilling rigs, processing plants, pipelines, storage farms and LPG / LNG installations – all locations works in environment of hazardous flammable gases or liquids, which may be detected. Available applications of Spectrex detectors are listed below.

DRILLING RIGS

Drilling rigs and FPSO need advanced ShaprEye IR3 flame and SafEye gas detectors. It’s task is to prevent a key object and minimalize the risk of personnel injuries.

Detectors should be reliable (SIL 2 certificated) and the action should be quick, so as to provide preventive measures rapidly.

LPG / LNG PROCESS INSTALLATIONS

In refinery, LPG/LNG processing plants and storage location – where natural gas, propane and other hydrocarbons are stored or processed, the risk of gas leakage is high. Other applications: flanges, valves and points, where flammable agent leaves the tank.

LPG AND LNG AS RAW MATERIALS

LPG and LNG are used as raw material or power sources for many applications, what generates the risk of fire. Constant monitoring of gas leakage and fumes emission is a necessity in terms of personnel and plant safety.

Also petrochemical plants have to be protected, as heavy fraction vapours remain close to the ground.

EXTERNAL FLOATING ROOF TANK

External floating roof tank, is a storage tank commonly used to store large quantities of petroleum products such as crude oil or condensate. The unwanted phenomenon could happen – the vapours can migrate out of the tank through sealing and the fire could be started.Spectrex IR3 fire detectors are designed to continuous monitoring of roof sealing. Even when tank of big diameter (up to 60 m) is protected.

CHEMICAL PLANTS

Chemical and petrochemical industry generates lots of situations of chemicals ignition. Reliable and fast solutions for gas and fire detection are required.

Object, which should be equipped with gas and fire detectors:

chemical plants – tanks, distillation column
companies which distribute or store chemicals – loading docks, transporting vehicles.
It includes: chemical (pesticides, explosives, wax and candle production, diluents production) and petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food industries; in the production of spices, paints, fabrics; in the printing industry, in metal processing, in wastewater treatment and water purification, fireworks and gas generators manufacturing, in refrigeration and air conditioning.

REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING

Turbine failure causes the increase of flow of flammable vapours – if they are not detected on time, the failure may lead to uncontrolled explosion, as the gases are mixed with air or migrate to refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Flammable gases may be sucked and passed to combustion chamber or ignite by hot spots.

Spectrex SafEye gas detector enables activating the emergency shutdown of the turbine (in 2-3 seconds), when high concentration of flammable gas is detected.

Example:

Flammable gas leakage, which gets into the ventilation system increases the risk of fire and health hazard at inhabited area, as the cloud can ignite by hot spots or sparks.

EXTENSIVE FACILITIES

In case of expanded plant, monitoring of gas leakage and fire expansion should be provided, so as to warn of hazardous gas migration to populated areas.
